Why Document Verification Is Hard Now
With AI-generated forgeries and lookalike websites, “verification by webpage” is a weak link: a spoofed site can imitate a real verification page and mislead reviewers.
Certidox is built to reduce that risk by attaching verification to the document itself (printed or digital) and by providing immediate status checks (active/suspended/revoked).
Key point: if a process relies on a website alone, the website can be mimicked.
Certidox is designed to keep verification reliable even when attackers copy visuals and URLs.
How Certidox Document Verification Works
1) Embed a secure QR code in each document
Each certified document carries a QR code that enables fast verification while preserving confidentiality. This applies to both printed outputs and digital files.
2) Verify via mobile app or on your servers
- Mobile verification: a free app (App Store and Google Play) for human checks.
- Automated verification: verify at scale in your workflow using a dedicated Certidox library.
3) Always-current status: active, suspended, revoked
If a document is suspended or revoked, the status changes immediately. Optionally, anyone who previously verified it can receive a real-time notification—preventing reuse of outdated or invalid documents.
Confidentiality and Compliance
Certidox is designed to be FERPA, GDPR, and PIPEDA aligned and to protect the confidentiality of certified documents. No personal data is stored in plain text, and decryption keys are not kept on Certidox servers.
